• Official Language: The official language of the conference is English.

• AI Real-Time Translation: To ensure everyone feels included and comfortable, AI-assisted translation services will be provided for all plenary sessions (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings). Bring your phone and airplugs. A QR code scanner you need to have installed. 

• A Multilingual Community: Our global members speak many languages. We always find ways to connect and understand one another.

• The Body as Our Universal Language: As Dr. Alexander Lowen reminded us, our primary language is written in the body itself. Beyond spoken words, we connect through presence, breath, and shared human experience.

Visa & Official Invitation Letters

If you require an entry visa for Portugal, we recommend beginning your application process early.

• Invitation Letters: Once your conference registration and payment are complete, you may request an official letter of invitation by emailing us at info@bioenergeticanalysis.com

• Embassy Guidance: Please note that while we provide official confirmation letters, the IIBA cannot contact embassies or consulates directly on your behalf.
   

Climate & What to Pack

• Temperature: June in Peniche brings pleasant summer weather, with average daytime temperatures ranging from 16°C (61°F) to 28°C (82°F). Rain is uncommon at this time of year.

• Coastal Winds & Ocean Air: Peniche is situated on a stunning peninsula known for its fresh ocean breezes and world-class surfing.

• Clothing Recommendation: Layers are ideal. Please bring a warm jacket, sweater, or wrap for breezy evenings by the ocean, as well as comfortable, loose-fitting clothing suitable for movement and experiential workshops.

• For your personal ease and physical comfort: 

  • We encourage you to bring a small pillow, a towel, or a yoga mat so you can move, stretch, and ground comfortably alongside conference sessions. 

  • As meeting room temperatures may vary, participants are encouraged to bring a light jacket or sweater.
     

Getting There (Lisbon Airport to Peniche)

• Nearest Airport: Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS), located approximately 90 km (56 miles) south of Peniche.

• Bus Transport: Rede Expressos operates comfortable, direct express buses from Lisbon (Sete Rios station) straight to Peniche (approx. 1 hour 35 minutes).

• Taxis & Airport Transfers: Direct taxis or ride-shares (Uber, Bolt) are available from Lisbon Airport.

• Currency: Euro (€). Credit cards are widely accepted, though carrying a small amount of cash is recommended for local cafes.

• Tipping: Tipping in Portugal is voluntary and gentle. Small tips (5–10%) in restaurants are appreciated for good service, but never expected.

• Electricity: Standard European 2-pin socket (Type C/F), 220 volts AC at 50Hz. Please bring a universal adapter if traveling from outside Europe.

• Local Time: Western European Summer Time (WEST / UTC +1).

• Emergencies: The national emergency phone number across Europe is 112.

• Accessibility: The MH Atlântico Hotel features barrier-free access to plenary halls, dining areas, and ground-floor facilities.

• Smoking Policy: In compliance with Portuguese law, smoking is strictly prohibited indoors, in all common public areas, and on public transit. To maintain fresh air for all participants, please step well away from the main hotel installations if you choose to smoke outdoors.

• VAT & Tax-Free Shopping: Sales tax (IVA) is included in displayed prices across Portugal. Non-European Union residents are eligible for tax-free shopping schemes at participating retail stores upon presenting their passport.
